Greetings Mr. Agrawal:
The head and Z stage of the FDM series are powered by Stepper Motors.
One motor for each plane, X/Y/Z.
The four, Z Stage, power screws are tied together by a toothed timing belt
and toothed pulley's.
The belt and pulley's are adjusted to hold the Z stage level and smooth as
it raises and lowers.

Subject: motors for FDM extruder head
Dear rpml members,
I find cable and pulley drive for the X and Y motion of the
extruder head. The z-stage platen moves by four power screws.
Which motors do they use for the head movement: servo or stepper?
Whether power is on all the power screws or only on few of them.
I think all the four power screws must be rotated for the
movement of the platen.
I am doing stochastic modeling of the RP processes and need to
understand the mechanisms.
Eagerly waiting for ur response.
regards,
Sanat
