Dear Sreenath:

This is patent-speak for words to the effect of "apply appropriate radiation
or chemical deposition that will solidify a medium". In this case the medium
would likely be photopolymer. This is a way of making a more general,
legally more widely applicable statement than simply writing, "direct a
laser on the surface of the stuff". 3D Systems uses this language quite
often in their patents.
