Medical Models Short Course

March 8 -10, 2000
Salt Lake City, UT

This three day training course is designed to give the participant a hand-ons approach to creating medical models directly from CT and MR data sets. Using the Velocity2 Pro software package, the GE Radworks interface, rapid prototyping equipment, and CAD packages such as Rhino, the participants will learn:

€ methods to import medical image data (introduction to PACS)
€ processing of medical image data sets in preparation for 3D reconstruction
€ creation of 3D models
€ measurement tools and other 3D manipulation options
€ creation of STL files
€ animation for web interfaces
€ rapid prototyping options (participants will build their own medical reconstruction on an
RP system)
€ interfacing contour data with CAD
