We have the same problem with Mech. Desktop (all of them). What we do is
export as an IGES or sometime as an SAT and then bring them into Solidworks
and then generate the stl file. I prefer SAT format but many times MDT will
not generate the SAT file.
We also run a Genisys XS machine and have had great success of producing
models using this technique. We also use other converters to fix and
manipulate files.
