RESEARCH FELLOW

FACULTY OF COMPUTING SCIENCES & ENGINEERING
£18,222 - £24,842
3 Year Fixed-Term Contract
De Montfort University is leading a joint project with Liverpool University,
UMIST, Queen Mary & Westfield College and a range of companies based in the
UK to study 'Direct Fabrication of Complex Functionally Graded Materials'.
This will involve the Laser Fusion of powders with CO2 and Nd: YAG lasers.
You will be responsible for undertaking research and experiments in the use
of the Laser Fusion of powders. A proportion of the time will be spent in
managing the overall project between the universities. It will be necessary
to travel to the partners' locations within the UK to report on the progress
of the project and you will, therefore, need the capability to work as part
of a multi-university team and have the confidence to make presentations to
them.
You will, preferably, have a PhD in an engineering subject, and a knowledge
and industrial experience of laser processing would be an advantage.
