One simple way would be to use a program called "Lview Pro", (it's been
around for years). It allows screen capture, then you can crop unwanted
parts of the capture.
It also allows file conversion, (.jpg -> .gif, etc.)
It's very handy, powerful and easy to use.

Subject: Protected File Data
A Novice Question For the List,
Does anyone know the best way to "capture" views of a 3D model, that would
not contain the .stl data necessary for RP output?
i.e. is there a VRML (or similar) utility that will take an .stl file and
allow me to e-mail a series of views in a .jpg or .pic file which would not
be usable in an RP machine?
Thanks
