Software for representing gradient materials

Dear RP-friends,

Just like last year at the Chicago RP&M2000 conference I was also this year
at the Cincinnati RP&M2001 conference impressed by the potential of the DLPD
technologies like LENS from OPTOMEC, DMD from POM etc. All the work that is
being performed by these companies and universities like the University of
Rhode Island etc. enable an application now and in the near future. My only
concern and also my question is the software for representing the gradient
materials so that the technologies/machines get the right commands to
perform a proper job.

* Is anyone on this list aware of any activity in the direction of
developing software for this purpose?
* Where can I find more information on this?
* What do you expect on this subject?

Many thanks in advance if any of you like to share some thoughts!

Jan Willem
