Oliver,

He should select 'options' in the 'save as' window, and see if the default refinement values are set to 'custom' and very high, or on 'fine'. Depending on model geometry and size, this could be set needlessly too fine.

  I have a customer who is trying to generate STL files in Solidworks. He is producing STL files of typical RP type components but they are coming out at 60 MB! what is he doing wrong?

  Anyone have any ideas?
