Vantico to Sell Stereolithography Materials
Directly to Prototypers

EAST LANSING, Mich., August 23, 2001 Vantico Inc. announced today that it
will begin selling its broad line of Cibatoolŗ SL photopolymers for
stereolithography (SL) directly to the customers beginning February 18,
2002*. The advanced materials have been distributed exclusively by 3D
Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: TDSC), Valencia, California, manufacturer of SL
equipment.

George Sollner, president of Vanticošs Adhesives & Tooling Division, North
America, explains, "We have terminated our exclusive agreement for the
distribution of Vanticošs SL materials with 3D Systems to better meet the
changing dynamics and demands of the rapid modeling and prototyping
business. By selling SL materials directly to the marketplace, we believe
will be able to focus more completely on serving customers and providing
them with improved technical and applications support as well as a broader
product offering."

Sollner adds, "To enhance our ability to respond to customers quickly and
effectively, Vantico will be adding personnel to Division marketing and
product development groups in the coming months."

Vantico SL Materials

Stereolithography is a process for the rapid production of three-dimensional
solid models utilizing a computer-directed laser to solidify progressive
layers of liquid photopolymer. Vantico pioneered the development of the
Cibatool line of
photopolymers during the late 1980s, at the same time that 3D Systems was
developing the first SL equipment. 3D Systems will continue to service and
support the SL hardware market; Vantico remains a world leader in the
manufacture and sale of SL materials.

Vanticošs comprehensive family of SL photopolymers includes 16 different
materials that are used for the production of accurate, durable models with
such diverse characteristics as humidity and high-temperature resistance and
tough, polypropylene-like properties. Vantico also manufactures and markets
a broad range of epoxy and polyurethane systems for modeling, moldmaking,
prototyping and forming initial parts to the automotive, foundry, aerospace
and general manufacturing industries. The company has been a world leader
in plastic tooling materials for more than 60 years.

Headquartered in Luxembourg, Vantico had 2000 sales of nearly $1 billion
with 3,000 employees and manufacturing sites in 18 countries around the
world. The company operates three global divisions: Adhesives & Tooling,
Electronic Polymers and Polymer Specialties.

3D Systems was founded in 1986 and is the world technology and market leader
in solid imaging.
