You may have to go to a 2 part ink. They have the best chemical resistance
and will stick to some pretty slippery surfaces. However, they have to be
mixed right and start to cure as soon as you mix it. This usually isn't a
problem for mass production because it gets used before it is fully cured.

Because I was pad printing I got mine from Tampo but lots of people make it.
You might also look at a UV curing ink since you already have the UV.

One more thing about the alcohol test make sure you are using the correct
percentage of Isopropyl and that you give the ink enough time to dry before
the test. 99% isopropyl is allot stronger than the 70% you get at the drug
store.

Dear list,

I post this question for my friend in Corning Cable
Systems to ask for your kind help.

They use UV curable material to cable (buffer)optical
fibers. They do this by covering a bunch of optical
fibers with UV acrylate, then use UV lamps to cure the
acrylate to form a jacket covering the optical fibers.
 Then, for identification purpose, They print on the
jacket, which is the cured UV material.

The problem they have is that the prints are easy to
be wiped off the jacket with alcohol (ispropanol). My
friend has been looking at ways to make the prints
stay better. But he seems to be held back. I would
greatly appreciate it if anybody could give any hints.
