3D Systems Gains License Rights to Additional 3-D Printing Technology

VALENCIA, Calif., April 29, 2002 - 3D Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: TDSC) today
announced it has entered into an exclusive license agreement, including
enforcement rights, with Richard Helinski of Narragansett, R.I., fundamental
to dispensing multiple solidifiable materials from an inkjet print head to
form three-dimensional objects.

The license of U.S. Patent No. 5,136,515 grants 3D Systems the right to sue
for past, present and future patent infringement and recover profits and
damages, as appropriate. The patent also pertains to the use of "radiation
curable" material dispensed from a print head to form three-dimensional
objects.

"These licensed patent rights are a valuable addition to 3D Systems'
portfolio of intellectual property," said Chuck Hull, chief technology
officer. "They allow us to improve our technology and further enhance our
development of the multi-jet modeling (MJM) product line. We look forward to
announcing more advancements in this area in the near future."

Helinski was active in the early development work relating to phase-change
color inkjet printing technology while at Howtek Inc. of Hudson, N.H., and
holds eight U.S. patents.

About 3D Systems

Founded in 1986, 3D Systems provides solid imaging products and solutions
that help reduce the time and cost of designing products and facilitate
direct and indirect manufacturing. Its systems utilize patented technologies
that create physical objects from digital input.

3D Systems currently offers the ThermoJet(R) solid object printer, SLA(R)
(stereolithography) systems, SLS(R) (selective laser sintering) systems, and
Accura(tm) materials. Product pricing in the U.S. ranges from $49,995, for
the ThermoJet printer, to $799,000 for the high-end SLA 7000 system. The
company licenses the complementary 3D Keltool(R) process, a method for
producing steel mold inserts, and currently is developing systems that use
composite paste materials for direct manufacturing.
