I hate to even jump into this thread, but. . .

This sounds like grapevine more than truth. I think the news of Sony being
an SLA competetor in the US has grown. . .

Just my two cents, but there is no supporting documentation one the sale of
3D Systems.

Well if this is true then that is good news. Sony would not be interested
unless they saw the possibility to advance the technology to a broader
market, something the engineering-centric 3D Systems has failed to
contemplate so far.
