Dear Greg and list

It is my understanding that epoxy SL parts can be sterilised for certain
purposes. However they are not approved for patient contact. That means that
they cannot touch a patient or surgeon during theatre. I'm not a chemist but
apparently there are very good reasons why this is the case.

If you want the part to come into physical contact with humans under
operating theatre conditions the only SL material approved for use is
Vantico's Stereocol H-C 9100R. This is acrylate based and approved to FDA
USP 23 Class VI.

In either case you should not sterilise by boiling as this will probably
damage the part. There are several lower temperature methods that I can
suggest to you if you are interested.

kind regards,
Richard
