There is very little information in this short report, but it sounds like
they put a stop to it very quickly.

              3D Systems No Longer Sees 4Q Profit>TDSC

Dow Jones, Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at 17:05

VALENCIA, Calif. (Dow Jones)--3D Systems Corp. (TDSC) no
longer expects a fourth-quarter profit, due to some revenue that can't be
recognized in the quarter, and said it placed E. James Selzer, chief
financial officer and senior vice president, global finance and
administration, on leave.

In a press release Tuesday, 3D Systems said that while
conducting its year-end audit, it became aware that about $3 million of
equipment shipped at the end of the year couldn't be reported as revenue in
the fourth quarter. As a result, the company now expects revenue of about
$31 million in the fourth quarter, along with a corresponding loss.

3D Systems, which provides imaging services that allow users
to move quickly from 3-D designs to finished parts, had said in January it
expected a fourth-quarter return to profitability on revenue of $33 million
to $34 million.
