Is there anyone on this list involved with MicroSTL?
I'm new to rp and I am looking for a solution for manufacturing
life-size replicas of human teeth including internal anatomy (the root
canals). At their smallest diameter the canals can reach .2mm and
smaller. The materials used need to approximate the consistency of
bone as close as possible. I've thought of the calcium phosphate
material used by the ZCORP machines. With the Cyanoacrylate and a wax
infiltrant the material properties should be good but I don't believe
the resolution of the ZCORP machines is good enough to build the
internal root canals with enough accuracy. I also want to explore the
possibility of a ceramic-polymer composite which I know can be
manufactured using MicroStereoLithography techniques but I don't know
much about the process or the properties of the material.
If there is anyone out there who can shed some light on this issue
please let me know. Also, if there is anyone with the facilities to do
some testing for us, we would be very interested in that.
