STUDENT MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS AWARDED $251,250 IN SME SCHOLARSHIPS

SME AWARDS $251,250 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO PAVE THE WAY FOR FUTURE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERS
Eric Laumann, winner of the 2003 SME Family Scholarship, received SME's top award of $70,000 to study
mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind. Eric is a senior
at Bishop High School, Kettering, Ohio and holds a 4.25 G.P.A. Rebecca Reidhaar, of Bloomington, Ind.,
was awarded the 2003 Myrtle and Earl Walker Directors' Scholarship of $5,000. Rebecca has a cumulative
3.8 G.P.A. and will graduate from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in December 2003. She plans to attend graduate
school to specialize in automotive design following a summer internship at Visteon Corporation. Two additional
Family Scholarships finalists, Benson Mitchell of New Paris, Ind., and Nandan Shetty of West Hartford, Conn.,
each received a $10,000 scholarship.

and president emeritus of the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
