Research Fellow in Energy Efficient Tooling for Injection Moulding

The appointment will be for a period of two years, with a start date
between the 1st November 2003 and the 1st January 2004. Working on a
project in collaboration with industry which will investigate the energy
efficiency of injection mould tools made using a hybrid layer
manufacturing/high speed machining approach.

Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent industrial research
experience including experience of injection moulding and/or layer
manufacture (also known as rapid prototyping and tooling techniques).
They should also demonstrate enthusiasm, project management abilities
and team-working skills in an industrial environment.

The School has been rated as of international quality in terms of its
research output over the last three Research Assessment Exercises and
the successful candidate would join a group internationally respected
for its work in the area of Design and Manufacture.

Research 1A (£18,265 to £23,296 p.a. pay award pending).
