Hi Urban,

This is done with rendering engines, it's called displacement mapping. Rhino 4 has an add on that does it and AIR from Sitex Graphics has an option to dump such geometry to OBJ files. Both cases the triangle mesh will require some touch up. Other rendering packages should do the same, these just are the ones I used.
