Yes, that's surprising to me as well. Others manage to build a sort-
of-a machine with a student's budget but this company obviously
didn't get beyond promising samples.

I'd be interested in some opinions why this can happen at the same
time a similar open source project (RepRap, Fab@Home) apparently
succeeds.
