EuroMold International Conference Focuses on The Future of Additive Manufacturing

FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, USA, September 21, 2009—DEMAT GmbH (Frankfurt, Germany) and Wohlers Associates, Inc. have announced the 11th annual international conference to be held at EuroMold 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany. This year's conference, titled The Future of Additive Manufacturing, is on Friday, December 4 at EuroMold 2009. The EuroMold trade fair is December 2-4 at the Exhibition Center Frankfurt.

In the past, this conference has covered the latest developments and trends in rapid product development and additive manufacturing (AM). This year's conference will address how companies in aerospace, defense, medicine, dentistry, and other industries are applying AM systems to the production of high-quality parts and products. It will also discuss custom consumer products made by AM that are available for purchase from multiple sources. The future of applying AM to the manufacture of production-quality parts is the central theme of the event.

The conference will feature nine speakers from Belgium, England, Germany, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the USA. Together, these individuals represent vast knowledge, insight, and experience in additive manufacturing. All of them have been asked to share what they see as the opportunities, challenges, and lessons learned in applying AM technology. Attendees will learn when it makes sense to consider AM for part production and when conventional manufacturing methods are better suited.
