In hindsight my message was a bit confusing. The switch to 64 bit OS is
to support large models in Pro Engineer and Unigraphics. Once they have
been exported, Surfacer usually doesn't have a problem with them. And
yes, Surfacer was designed for NT so there would be no advantage to the
64 bit OS, but I don't want to make it impossible to run Surfacer until
I have an alternative. Hopefully that's more clear.

Sure it will run under 7 but vista will be a crapshoot. If the software
is 64bit capable then it will use the "extra" memory available in the
new systems if not it will perform the same.

Ok guys please don't laugh. I still use Surfacer 10.6 to prepare models.
Old as it might be it works well for what we build. Currently I'm using
XP but the models are getting larger all the time as most of the
designers have switched to 64 bit OS. The fix from IT is a 64 bit OS for
me. My only hesitation is that the fix may be more trouble than the
problem.

The question is will it run well under Windows Vista or Windows 7?

Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
