New RP Position at The University of Dayton

The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a well
qualified professional to fill a position that provides a unique opportunity
in the Rapid Prototyping field. The position is in UDRI's Rapid Prototype
Development Laboratory (RPDL) which has been an innovator in University
based Rapid Prototyping research programs and is the founder of the annual
International Conference on Rapid Prototyping. Recently the University was
awarded a grant by the State of Ohio to establish a State of Ohio University
Based Rapid Prototype Process Development Consortium. This consortium, led
by UD, will involve six Ohio universities performing coordinated R&D and
cooperating in the development of a graduate education program in Rapid
Prototyping that will meet the needs of both university students and
industrial participants. The emphasis in the program will be on developing
new materials and process innovations. The duties of the position will

    1. Coordinating the Ohio RP Consortium
    2. Administration of the International Conference on Rapid Prototyping
    3. Maintenance of the RPDL facilities and supervision of the students
    4. Participating in ongoing R&D programs
    5. Assisting in the development of the curriculum for the graduate RP
    6. Outreach to industry to encourage participation in the RPDL and

Applicants should have at minimum a Masters degree in engineering or science
with five years relevant experience. Knowledge of 3D CAD (Pro-E,
Unigraphics, or I-DEAS) and experience with operation of at least one of the
principal RP machines (SLA, SLS, FDM or LOM) is essential.
