   Developer of Award-Winning Solid Modeling Software to Provide 400
                Grant Licenses to Academic Institutions

company, today at the American Society of Engineering Education Conference
in Seattle, announced the establishment of the SolidWorks Academic Grant
Program. The Grant Program awards approximately 400 licenses of
SolidWorks(R) software to engineering departments at two and four year
academic institutions. The SolidWorks Academic Grant Program, valued at
over $2,000,000 (US), was established to further the integration of design
automation technology in all areas of engineering instruction. Continuing
its commitment to bring the power of production solid modeling to the
desktop of every engineer, SolidWorks introduces its Academic Grant Program
to ensure that future industry leaders will be prepared to compete in the
fast-paced engineering marketplace.

The SolidWorks grant licensing package includes: SolidWorks 98, the
company's powerful, Windows-based 3D mechanical design product;
