Du Zhaohui:

Good points-but with the development of genetic-based developmental
algorithms for geometry creation it seems that we are able to generate
free-form objects with shape diversity, although still in its infancy, this
field shows much promise for the future. Manufacturing flexibility still
has a way to go but it is always improving....
Nanotechnology is a field where the design of an object can be created from
the inside out - at the molecular level and this is where your hoped for
"material self-orginise /self-copy/self-assembly" may come from in the
future. Rapid Prototyping starting at the molecular level and in this way
you can engineer in the desired material characteristics and form.

Best Regards,

Glenn Whiteside
