Mr. Burns: What a refreshing conversation to hear on this site! We are
both on the same page.

It's not that weird to imagine if every little girl had a doll with her very
own face on it... Or we all had bicycle helmets that actually fit our
strangely shaped heads?

Since you asked for some feedback, you may also want to read our company
founder's recent thoughts on this industry trend. Here is what Ping Fu had

Subject: Mass customization

Dear RP friends,

Last month, NEPCON hosted a senior executive forum on The Future Factory
produced by Pamela Gordon of Technology Forecasters. The afternoon session
on the subject of Responding to the Need for Mass Customization featured a
panel of Rodolfo Archbold, chief technology officer of Manufacturers’
Services Ltd., Lisa Colnett, senior vice president of Celestica, John R.
Thome, corporate director for manufacturing systems of Motorola, and myself.
The discussion started out with each panel member offering brief
introductory comments. I've posted my prepared remarks at, where I discuss the
relationship between digital manufacturing and mass customization.

I'd be very interested in your feedback on those remarks.

Best regards,
Marshall Burns
