Dear Al,

The process is sub-surface engraving. It is a fairly simple process that can
utilize an IR, Green or Ultraviolet laser (Yes, the same UV solid state
laser that is used in stereolithography). Different laser wavelengths will
yield different densities in shapes of the internal cracks. There are
several manufacturers of the complete equipment around the world. There are
also many "service bureaus" that have the equipment. Some of the
manufacturers would include Lazer-Tek Designs in Vegas
(, Vitro in Germany (, Crystal Magic in
Florida ( I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

I recently saw a three dimensional model inside of crystal (or glass)
which was made with a laser. Does anyone have detailed information on this
