PhD Studentships from October 2003

The Innovative Manufacturing & Construction Research Centre at Loughborough
University brings together a multi-disciplinary group of over 40 academic
staff undertaking leading-edge collaborative research to enhance the
processes, products, and competitiveness of the UK's manufacturing and
construction industries. Research is industrially focussed in the following
key areas:

Advanced Information and Communication Technologies
Innovative Production Technologies
Improving Business Processes
Human Factors
Sports Technology
Rapid Manufacturing

The pooling of these themes into one centre provides excellent opportunities
for synergy in extending and enhancing existing research whilst at the same
time creating new lines of research. Crosscutting generic issues can be
identified which can then be applied to a number of different core industry

The IMCRC has a number of PhD studentships available from October 2003 and
we are now seeking students who have or are predicted to receive 1st or 2.1
degrees to work across the groups that form the Centre.
